One of the new chickens we picked up yesterday is a cross between barred rock/ameracauna. All the others are just barred rock. My friend that gave them to me suspected that the cross is the one that was laying different colored eggs, and she was right. The other barred rocks all lay tan/brown eggs, but the cross lays green/blue eggs. I think they're pretty. The light in the pic doesnt show the color well. #grownostr #chickens #eggs

We had the same thing happen, thought our new girls were red sex links, but have small green eggs. Gonna see if I can grow a green chicken, that’s how it works, right?
