I need to start making soap!! Is there a recipe? 👀 I have a lot of tallow and essential oil
Hi nostr, i'm listening to a little bit of much needed rain falling outside. Its been a good day, i got started on the turnover at the cabin after church, then just did some things around the house. I went for a walk this evening, and this time i carried my walkie talkie with me, and told my husband to carry his. I want to start doing this from now on, after my scary encounter with the those dogs.
I hope i made enough of my homemade soap for the holiday season. A lady at church wants to buy 15 bars that i'll be getting to her this week. Anyway, yall have a good evening nostr friends. Stay happy, healthy, and free. #grownostr #homesteading #countrylife https://nostrcheck.me/media/8d9d2b77930ee54ec3e46faf774ddd041dbb4e4aa35ad47c025884a286dd65fa/92748b3dc0a2a377d355a9df0aabc157361510a5251172affec7e043220c23e7.webp

Best thing is to look up a soap calculator online and plug in your ingredients. It'll tell you the amts of your fats, liquids, and lye. Each type of fat is different. I'm experimenting with tallow soap, but my usual recipe is olive oil and coconut oil.
I do venison tallow soap. To burn off the tallow impurities I aim for more of a lye soap. So I go heavier on the lye. Makes a good lather. 0.5% superfat recipe
