commissioners as well as the commission‘s president are not elected by the people, they are set by power circles, the EU parliamentary influence is limited.

As well EZB is not interested in paradigm shifts that could threaten the traditional power structure of their economical and political hegemons…

Decentralization is not welcome in any ways, they want the opposite, they want CBCDs - the digital Euro.

Sorry typo: CBDC

really good points ... only one question ... IF EU commision and commisioners would become elected more directly, would it be ok for you if the goverments of every EU-member would have to give up on decentralised powers to create a global player with enough empowerment to challenge the USA or China (or Russia) ? ... At the moment we are master of regulatory without any real global power, more decentralisation would create even weaker empowerment. ... look at the things the new leader of the USA is doing at the moment ... he tries to split the nations globaly to get the best deals for the USA alone ... I am quite sure, only if the EU-nations can enlarge the power of the EU as a global player we all can profit. (This does not mean, that I am ok with everything happening in the EU at the moment, I am very worried, but we have to think globaly AND decentraliced. ... We have to find/create a equlibrium between decentralisation in every persons life and global empowerment in global issues ... at the moment we are fighting each other who's to blame for every mistake made on the way ... this endless fighting is only helping the existing global players, not the everyday-person around the globe ... not good)

Don‘ t get me wrong, I also see the urgency for Europe to emancipate as a unity of a 500 million people market in order to become a respected contender to the global (counter)players in economical, political and maybe also military aspect.

But there is a lack of transparency in EU‘s political power structure. It would be a progress in credibility if commissioner presidents are inaugurated more directly by the vote of the parliament.

Individual freedom of citizens on microscopic level and cultural autonomy on the macroscopic level for member nations should not be neglected. Overregulation, Deep Data Collection, senseless impersonal regulations that create nonsense in every day’s life are weakening Europe‘s creativity, productivity and entrepreneurship. An innovative Europe with liberal economic laws, personal freedom and privacy, granting more autonomy for countries to imply central legislation locally according to their wished extent could make Europe a strong and serious contender for all three global superpowers. A European carbon and morality policy is an expensive artificial construct of restrictive regulations not creating value at all, all they create are costs for the little man with the redistribution of his property to a central entity. Fun fact is… it is unproductive, expensive, weakening and the worst… there is a real danger getting an oppressive data collection leviathan using digital Euro to control people’s property and behavior.
