Sadly some shops only accept PayPal. I closed my account years ago and have no plan to open another one. There is a Guest Payment feature but they do everything to hide it. This time I had to switch the language from Dutch to English to see the "pay with creditcard" option.
PayPal is to fiat what plastic is to glass. It's bad enough not to accept Bitcoin, but ffs at the very least don't force customers to use PayPal.
PayPal requires me to share a ton of personal data. Until I do, my account is not usable.
I guess it will never be used by me again.
I had a similar experience with Rexite, a small design company from Italy. They make this cool 900 Multiplor desk organizer that's been around since the 60s, but their website looks like it's from the same time too. I didn't want to use PayPal, so I emailed them and they told me to do a bank transfer instead. Cumbersome but I absolutely refuse to ever use PayPal again.
