I think we need to update clients so you don’t see a ton of copies of a repost when a lot of people repost the same thing.
Could you aggregate the reposts from your follow list much like the “Likes” get aggregated in your notifications? #asknostr

Exactly. Show it once showing it has been reposted n times by x, y, and z people.
It would let the user still see how valuable it was in their circle without cluttering the feed.
