Making end-2-end encrypted transactions would make it perfect money imo.

Yeah, that's just a matter of time though. I'm more stating in regards to first principles & the base layer.
Base layer will never change as it’s public ledger. But you have trustless side chains or zero-knowledge roll ups can allows for end-2-end encryption but both require a soft fork like Taproot.
Lightning is unlikely to ever be truly private as chainanalysis software and AI can unscramble coin joins in the future.
