A bank in Spain suddenly requires its existing customers to provide certified proof of employment without legal justification and threatens to terminate their account if they do not. Is a new standard being set here? (Source in German)

I don't think this is newsworthy. Just this week, one of my bank accounts was frozen because I went too long without providing "recent documented proof" of my employment status.
Mine sent a text saying they could freeze my account if I don't update my user data like my address and stuff with documents.
