My new coiner friend just bought Trezor Safe 3.
I generally suggest Blockstream Jade / Green or Foundation Passport because they are open source.
Beyond being closed source, is there any reason that my friend should NOT use Trezor?

Trezor claims to be open source , are they lying ? I don't have a dog in this fight, but they crertainly claim to be open "The software used in Trezor devices has always been open-source to be fully auditable"

last I checked Trezor is fully open source. The two issues with Trezor is they support shitcoins which opens up the devices attack surface and distracts the devs what they can focus on and secondly, on the devived you can get $15 worth of parts from radio shack to bypass the pin. I know the Trezor Safe 3 has a secure element but I'm unfamiliar with it
Why not use Seedsigner. Better start on right path right away.
