Good thing is we don’t need companies to build end-to-end encrypted messaging platforms.
They can pass all the bills they want, all they will achieve is bankrupting companies which will be forced to put backdoors in their code to comply, cause people will chose open source solutions instead.
Or tech companies just move outside the UK.
But yes for secure E2EE you want open source.
