Before listening to this podcast, I thought covenants were a pretty cool and positive idea. But that metaphor about New York City's mayor banning buildings taller than five stories, only to change it when steel came along, really hit home. Imagine some salty parent locking their Bitcoin for 100 years just to spite their kids. Sure, it might look like they're donating to the network for a century, but think about all the second and third-order consequences. You can't just roll back covenants like you can change a law🤔
