I believe there is a note standard for audio / music but I'm not sure which NIP that is. You could probably use the same note standard for podcasts and have a client that only shows podcast notes.

Just use any podcast 2.0 app or any other type of rss reader. They cant stop a protocol. This will only affect things like spotify and other mainstream platforms.
