But I would have just stressed that a blockchain is just a public database with nothing inherently special about it. Blockchains aren’t automatically decentralized, either.

A clear and concise response. I like It.

I would probably also include why a highly distributed ledger is so important. Open, permission-less, and transparent.

There’s a zillion things to add, but where to start is always the trick. Grifters in the space have created so much confusion most people wouldn’t even know why decentralization is important and they would trade immutability with lower cost per transaction/speed.
