Law is underpinned by power. As long as there have been power differentials, the powerful have perceived any slight against that power as something akin to a crime.

If you have dogs then you have seen the animal form of this. The world is organized around power and those who exercise it.

We just need to love our way out of it fren.

The powerful don't decide unilaterally what language is, although of course they try to influence it. If the dictionary said "pizza" was "a machine for flying people through the air, suspended by a rotating blade" you would realize the dictionary is just wrong. Similarly, if a legislator says he can decide what plants you do or don't smoke & enforce his decision with armed goons, you should realize he is simply wrong about the law.

This is only true in the generations that remember the old meanings. Kind of an Animal Farm progression.

The old meanings were not handed down from God (in my opinion) but discovered by man primarily through trial and error (although reason sometimes provides a shortcut). We can discover them again.

We always do. And then we revolt. Little by little then all at once.

This is why America's second amendment is so important in order to preserve some balance of power
