Is it on zap.stream?
My episode with nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a drops on YT in 15 minutes.
It might be taken down 15 minutes later because a certain word was used in a "Savage Lyn" NOSTR post that I read aloud.
Let's see what the algos decide!

It is reasonably easy to set up and get streaming on there. It wont gain you much viewership vs youtube but it is much appreciated by the nostr audience as a way to avoid youtube
I’m gonna be honest here. There is minimal benefit to using zap.stream as opposed to Rumble at the moment other than for Nostr street cred. I’ve tried and will continue to try making it part of the streaming mix at PubKey but it has poor integration with Restream, unfriendly UX, and doesn’t draw much of an audience. Maybe we can convince Rumble to integrate with Nostr and zaps, but for zap.stream to work it needs an actual product roadmap and some resources behind it.
That’s valid. Thanks for sharing those details.
It is just one guy doing it as far as i am aware ( nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 ) so it is pretty great all things considered. I like zapping live, i like having no ads and no algorithms , and I just like to support it when i can. But yes, it is good to have tempered expectations. Being completely nontechnical, i was very surprised with myself when i was able to figure it out easily in about an hour
This is not meant to be a dig on nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49, BTW. I love the concept of zap.stream. It’s just hard to justify as part of a business strategy at the moment. I want to see it succeed and for that to happen it needs more funding and development.
What exactly do you need to see improved on zap.stream, and why?
How much time ya got?
What are the top two-three things
From his post above,
1. Poor integration with Restream,
2. unfriendly UX , and
3. doesn’t draw much of an audience
For me personally, i like playing around w zap.stream in its current state but im not trying to run a business. Im really just having fun playing w nostr tools and learning a new interface. Im happy to get one viewer if streaming. I like to encourage youtubers on nostr to at least try it because i dont think it is that hard to run it at the same time as a youtube stream but alas, ive only ever used zap.stream so i cant really be a good source on this
Thanks for the comments.
In my experience, I have found devs value concrete, actionable feedback.
For example:
“When I log into zap.stream, and I take action X, Y happens.
I expect Z to happen instead of Y. Y is a poor experience.
Here are the exact steps to recreate this experience.
Attached in a screen recording.”
No way man. I can probably give a list of things I would like to see. I am not going to spend hours compiling screen recordings of my user flow. There is no amount of UX feedback that is going to transform a canoe into a speedboat.
I mean , people are streaming to it pretty functionally already while also streaming to youtube. when i have had ux problems , i have shared specifics with keiran and they have been improved in time.
Obviously it is not youtube but it does work consistently for me and it would be reasonable for a bitcoin-related podcaster to use it even if it doesnt gain them $$.
It’s not for everyone though. I belive there is a more valuable connection made between a nostr stream viewer rather than a twitch or youtube stream viewer. Just my feeling
If it could simply grab the stream title from Restream so it didn’t have to be manually entered on the website it would be a major improvement. This is how YouTube and most other apps work, but they are fully integrated through the API and not through a static RTMP key.
And I don’t want to run all my streams through zap.stream and then out to other platforms. Restream does what I need it to do and the apps that plug into it should just work. I’m not the only one doing the streaming and I need to limit the number of people who have the ability to access the Nostr key.
