I wouldn't call anything a win after losing so many years

I agree but at least he isn't sent off to the US yet and has in theory a chance to be free. Do I have any hopes for it, not a whole lot.

He won today but the fight against the US still continues. #FreeAssangeNOW

And also execute every person who played any role in taking his freedom

This is definitely good but still a long way to go, we gotta keep up the fight!

In 2 it refuses Assange to bring forward new evidence

Yeah, it seems like this case now relies on the US providing required "assurances" for 4, 5 and 6. If not, Assange will be able to appeal the extradition.

Even the fact that someone has to go through such a mess just by revealing the truth makes me so angry... Goverments are really the biggest threat to society right now!

They are indeed

Always has been

#gangsterments

Did he really win? The process is the punishment.

Yes, although a small win, today was still a win. The process is definitely the punishment. Assange has been tortured by the US and UK for 12 years straight now so there is not much of a win left in the grand scheme of things. That said, It's most definitely a win if he is freed and not killed.

How did those " assurances " that income tax would only be during world war 2 go for you ?

Or that covid jabs wouldn't be mandated?

Pfft.

Any reasonable non-corrupt human being wouldn't trust "assurances" from the US

I still don't think I believe it entirely.... because based on their past actions they can't be trusted, but at least the legal system has, for once, chosen the correct side regarding Julian Assange.

And let's be real, without an official pardon from the president, he's likely to remain over vigilant for the rest of his life and even with a pardon, it seems he'll always have to be cautious. However, the fact that they've publicly acknowledged their mistake even in this basic way is significant.

Won a battle not the war

Maybe not even "a battle", just the second period of the existing battle. Now the third period will decide if there will be a new battle or not.

Has he won many legal battles in the last 12? years? Or has it been limbo the whole while?

He's lucky to even be given a trial

Has he been released from jail ?

Not at all, back to the 23 hour a day cell in Belmarsh prison for two more months until the court makes it's final decision on May 20th.

Then that is no win

Albeit a small win, of course this is still a win. He is not kidnapped onto an American plane today. A final proper win however would be that the US drops all charges and the UK makes Assange a free man.

He should be at home while this takes place. It’s outrageous

wow, this is huge

πŸ‘πŸ½

It's a delay. The US have got until May 20th to provide assurances to the uk court that they will not introduce the death sentence & a couple of other issues. If they don't he can appeal to European court.

Stella not happy. Calling for Biden to drop the case. Not provide 'assurances'.

Still more to go but this is a definite step in a better direction.

I feel like it suits the PTB pretty well to keep him in extra-judicial limbo.

He may have won a battle but his war is far from over.
