Royal Mint coins were always CGT free. The idea being you can't tax coin with a Sterling denominated amount on it it would be like taxing money. Have they changed it to foriegn coins too? If they were VAT free when you bought them I would be more impressed, as only gold is.

I couldn't remember seeing platinum coin being cut free before

Could just be that other coins are now being promoted 🤗
