"If you disagree with me, you are a hater."

Since when on Nostr is it no longer possible to have freedom of speech or thought?

Disagreement is not hate: it can be confrontation, stimulation or simply a different opinion.

Labeling all disagreement as hostility risks shutting down dialogue instead of enriching it.

That being said, I love bitcoin and I love sats, so if you want to send me some zaps to support my art, I will be eternally grateful. πŸ™πŸ«‚πŸŽ¨

Yea, totally. I was just having a few discussions about this. And because I don't say I agree with their point of view I'm some kind of idiot or hater. I thought this kind of thinking belongs on Facebook and X 😐 I'm disappointed but not surprised.

I don't know if you ever were on Bitcoin Twitter in the old days. Plebs traditionally consider themselves the white blood cells of Bitcoin. Whatever attacks the very foundation or Bitcoin will be attacked back. On Nostr this is not known as much because it's a beautiful garden and we're all Pura vida here, but recently these discussions came over here from Twitter and the more these attacks are being pushed to be seen as an acceptable consensus through influencial people, the more plebs will attack back these ideas.

I honestly hoped that these toxic dynamics were an extinct stuff on Nostr, I hoped that the dialogue here would be more constructive, instead I just read slogans as if it were an election campaign and stadium cheering over ideological issues.

I am an artist, probably my way of thinking is too naive.

The issue mostly is: Bitcoin works when there is consensus. There has been overall consensus for a long time on what is what, how big an op return is or that a small unit of a Bitcoin is called a sat. Once people push to change the very foundations of Bitcoin and these people are very influencial and other people start to follow these narratives, there always will be pushback by the majority that wants to stay on what actually is the consensus. Bitcoin works in a way that every change to it has to convince people to adapt to that change. And there's much at stake with every change.

nowadays "hate" has been banalizes by the recurrent use of improper terms, like "haters"

we throw about too easily cursewords, dense words. I agree with you
