• As of July 2025, more than 148,000 civil servants have left (voluntarily or involuntarily) under Trump’s administration, according to the Partnership for Public Service. 

• Approximately 300,000 federal civilian layoffs have been announced across various agencies under the “Department of Government Efficiency” and related efforts. 

• The Trump administration reportedly plans additional reductions, aiming to eliminate another ~150,000 positions on top of already large cuts. 

• Courts have intervened in some cases: for example, about 24,500 fired workers are being reinstated per a court order.
