I have the utmost respect for builders. Always have been. My issue is with arrogant people like John who come on nostr to tell us that nostr sucks and that we should all get an invite code to pubky instead

John’s account is as much a free speech zone as the rest of our accounts are. John and I were having an honest conversation surrounding beta testing, key management, and P2P development.
I’ve put so much effort and money into nostr (for absolutely no reason other than I’m a long long long time decentralization and bitcoin advocate)
You’re acting like I’m a nostr enemy but my actions tell a different story. Actions drive outcomes. If you’re unhappy with outcomes you’re welcome to build and speak out with or against us, as well. But, ultimately, it is builders who shape the world that you live in- choose to participate in that creative outcome or don’t… if you choose to and you build the apps that require constant stable key discovery you’ll understand what we’re saying.
Free speech is a non argument here we all have it.

If there is a better way to do certain things, I’m not sure why the solution is to do it somewhere else instead of improving here.
That’s where I think people like John have a huge conflict of interest. Him saying that nostr sucks could be more relevant if he wasn’t building his thing. Just seems like he’s trying to piggy back on the network effect here.
That’s how network effects work. You’re never going to escape this. Every so many years a group of people comes along and thinks they’ve totally reinvented the wheel while season engineers and developers watch with amusement as they run into the same flat circle over and over.
Which brings me back to my main point. If pubky is he new wheel whatever, why not have this conversation over there? Because you’re trying to get the network effect of nostr. Pubky can have the best tech in the world. Doesn’t work without the network effect.
In a decentralized world, there will be hundreds of potentially interoperable protocols

I didn't tell anyone they should get an invite code.
What happened was, instead of making any attempt to defend Nostr or refute my claims, many assholes started looking into Pubky for some way to discredit it, or me.
Then, when they did that, I did, in fact refute them and defend Pubky quite clearly. This actually did result in roughly 50 people reaching out to me and asking for more info, and for invite codes. Some are playing with Pubky right now. Cool!
The next steps are up you. Will you continue to act like a degenerate subhumans and blame me for your problems?
Or will you man up, quit this fucking pubescent behavior, and fix this trash protocol?
