Primal runs a relay aggregator of top few hundred relays.

Damus connects to relays in your relay list.

see i how come damus shows me stuff that primal didn’t see. shouldn’t it be the opposite?

Because Primal chose to filter it and not give it to you.

Damus pulls the content directly from each of your designated relays. So you get everything from every connected relay.

Primal “filters” your content

Damus connects you directly to the distribution hubs.

If you want the real Nostr use Damus. If you want filtered content use Twitter or Primal.

that’s not a good enough explanation. i don’t see a subset of the stuff on primal, and i’m pretty sure it’s not something primal has a reason to censor

I don’t know what else to tell you. If you use Primal. You’ll get a bastardized version and experience of Nostr.

Because of Primals central server you’re not pulling from the individual relays like with true Nostr apps. Primal is pushing you content from their servers.

i use both. i wonder why the difference

I feel like you aren’t reading the responses both myself and nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 have provided.

Primal, is a centralizing service, and making decisions on the content they determine is acceptable to forward to their UI/app.

Damus, shows you all the content that is on the connected relays as expected and what any real Nostr app should do.

Maybe nostr:npub1zga04e73s7ard4kaektaha9vckdwll3y8auztyhl3uj764ua7vrqc7ppvc can help explain the primal aggregator
