I don’t think there’s anything wrong with custodial wallets as long as you’re only keeping the money you’re willing to lose. Obviously don’t use as a savings mechanism but spending cash is fine.

Custodial provides better UX, easy to use. If someone cares that much about their privacy, there is a product for them if they wish to put in a little extra work.

Couldn’t agree more. Opt-In custody + educating about risks and alternatives 💪

Agreed.

Think about WoS as a tipping jar standing next to the cash register in the coffee house.

Keep in there only small amounts.

Yea and that amount will vary depending on what people are comfortable with. Some may not keep more than 300$ equivalent and others may not blink at 3k.

💯

Not blink at 3k Bitcoins yes…

💯🙏

That's another reason why we need automatic funds forwarding above a certain threshold

It’s a nice convenience for sure but it’s not so difficult to send funds manually. I would like that though.

Imagine running lightning node with 20+ wallets for friends and family , I don't want too much custodial risk so I give them an on chain wallet as a savings account which automatically receives the excess bitcoin above a certain threshold using a submarine swap (ideally only when fees are low etc)
