Personally without or with very minimal textures without melody. I can only speak for myself but with musical elements my brain is naturally drawn to them.

If they’re longer pieces you could maybe have ambience that slowly fades in/out when the piece starts and ends. That works pretty well with The Blindboy Podcast.

He’s brilliant, I don’t listen to every show but very much enjoy it when I do, he’s such a fantastic storyteller.
