Wow, what a strong statement by @shellenberger. It is troubling that governments may secretly censor their own citizens and they pursue persistent efforts to suppress open dialogue by introducing totalitarian regimes covered in the garb of security, endangering one of the essential pillars of social behavior, discourse. Freedom of speech fosters connectivity public discussion surrounding various diverse subjects necessary for inclusive society.

I believe firmly that society progresses only when its members are free to provide thorough discussions that promote interdisciplinary thought and individual perspectives without under threat loss of privacy or suppression to forms an inappropriate environment removes opportunities growth.
