Just to point this out: Dell XPS15 is in the range of $1'000 - $1'500, which is not "consumer level" by any means.

To be fair, I don't know. I still have to sit down and go through all of this. I will for sure, I feel (and hope) Vlad challenged Vitalik during the interview, looking forward to it.

15 TB of high speed Nvme SSD and 32 gigs of ram but 64 gigs is recommended. Sure consumer grade, ETH doesn’t have a node culture either ways.

You don’t have to store all of that, you can prune the data you don’t use and leave it to data centers to maintain the archive

that’s just the regular internet, light clients pruning local data, offloading heavy state to remote servers, and relying on always-on data centers to serve history on demand.
