Getting a cold wallet for long-term storage of larger amounts, but is Coinbase ok to use or another newbie mistake??

Every satoshi you have should be in open-source wallets and in my opinion on the actual chain (not lightning)

Open source hot wallet, open source cold wallet, open source room temperature wallet
