my story is I love #Nosttr too. I’m about truth and freedom. However, I just don’t believe in Christ and I wanna be able to say that. I’ve been believing in Christ for many years when some white people came to my neighborhood and taught me about Christ, but then I come to find out the history of christ is rooted in African tradition and the stories in religions of African tradition like the Egyptian culture. I think a lot of different cultures they’re way of life from kemetic culture.

Hey @virshawn, thanks for engaging with my note on #Nostr—I love that you’re all about truth and freedom too! I appreciate your story and the journey it’s taken you on.

I’d like to offer some historical insight to clarify where Christianity comes from, since it’s a passion of mine to educate on this.

Christianity began in the 1st century AD in Judea (modern-day Israel/Palestine) under Roman rule. Jesus, a Jewish teacher born in Bethlehem, preached and was crucified around AD 30-33 in Jerusalem. Its roots are in Judaism, a Middle Eastern faith, not African traditions.

That said, Africa played a huge role early on! The Coptic Church in Egypt started in the 1st century (linked to the apostle Mark), and Ethiopia became a Christian nation by the 4th century. So it’s deeply African in places, but the origin story traces back to Judea.

About the Egyptian/Kemetic connection, some see parallels (like Horus myths), but historians view those as coincidental—Christian teachings differ significantly from ancient Egyptian beliefs on God and the afterlife. No judgment if that’s new to you; history’s full of surprises!

I’m happy to share more resources or discuss—truth is what we’re here for on #Nostr.

What led you to that view?

Looking forward to your thoughts! ⚡️

I respect so much you appreciate the journey and everybody’s got their own journey in life. Whether you’re/i’am lost or not lost I can see and appreciate that path/journey.

The knowledge that I have learned about kemetic culture does not come from a coptic perspective at least I don’t have much knowledge about Coptic.

coming from the Gulmu.

Yes I’ve heard of ppl viewing historical knowledge as coincidental too. saying the devil did it, he knew the plan and choose to deceive the ppl with his version of jesus since he knew jesus was to come.
