This is the first social like this I've participated in. Trying to build a platform for the first time, I quickly realized boosts are king of low time preference engagement. Zaps are pay me today. Boosts get me new followers, assuming my content is worth boosting or following of course. Get the followers and make quality content and zaps will come automatically.

Zaps cost the bigger account just the sats. Boosts are the real plug because the account dropping the boost is putting their reputation on the line to say this person is worth your time to read.

Anyone have stats on this? I bet the data supports me. There will be more likes, then zap events, and the fewest boosts if I'm right.

I tend to agree with this, except with a slight variation. When it comes to zaps I am more in favor of zapping fewer posts but with larger amounts of sats, as opposed to zapping many posts with very small amounts. A substantial zap is a meaningful communication because it actually costs me something to send it, and it directly and measurably benefits the person who receives it.

That's true. When I see a standout post on a small account I like to see what their RX zaps look like. If reasonable, I send them the biggest single zap they've ever gotten. That sends a different message than another 21 or 69 sat zap does.
