But they had no wheels and no horses so they put everything on an animal skin tarp tied between two logs that they pulled along the ground from one place to another. Even the Mongols knew to put their Yurts on big multi-wheeled carts.

Even in the 1500s when the Spanish conquistadors arrived they found the Indians breaking down their teepees and dragging them around on two logs.

They only got horses eventually because the Spanish kept losing them which is how the herds of the wild mustangs started.

Meanwhile the Mongols were using oxen and yak teams to pull large 8-wheeled yurt platforms like mobile homes for centuries.
