Crony capitalism is just capitalism plus time. Those able to gain excessive wealth will inevitably use it to gain power and even more wealth. That's just basic game theory, the same thing Bitcoin used to lay out its incentive structure to keep miners, nodes, and users honest. Capitalism has no such incentive structure, so it will always inevitably yield economic juggernauts who will throw their weight around and crush honest competition with dishonest tactics. Under capitalism, you disavow kings but merely replace them with CEOs ruling over highly splintered and sometimes overlapping fiefdoms.
