1) Star trek is horrible on economics

2) I do not really see how fast transportation affects btc at all. AFAIK no part of btc depends on how fast you can transport stuff.

3) On the other hand fast transportation would make "rare" metals unusable as money. There is pretty much endless supply of any given (stable) element in the universe. With teleportation, you could double the amount of base money (the rare metal) in a day making it useless as money.
