Personally, I think all of this will happen well before 2030. Wouldn't shock me if most of it happens during the next election. Technology seems to be significantly speeding up the process. You're definitely correct about things getting worse in the short-term. No argument there.
In the book he says the cycles are growing longer because generations age slower today.
