For comparison:

Japan government debt is 224% of GDP (one of the highest debts)

USA govt debt is 122.16% of GDP (from figure)

New Zealand government debt is 36.9% of GDP but was as low as 16.6% in 2008.

Russia is in surplus of 16.1% of GDP

Singapore is in surplus of 171% of GDP (one of the highest surpluses)
