As a Primal user, I recently discovered that if I don't renew my subscription, my current Primal name will become available for someone else to purchase.

This raises serious concerns about identity and security. If someone sends sats to my former Primal name, they will inadvertently be sending them to the new owner, potentially compromising my financial security and identity.

I'm surprised that Primal releases usernames after subscription expiration, unlike other platforms like Gmail, which retain email addresses even after inactivity or deletion.

Similarly, with Nostr identity, if I don't pay, someone else can acquire my name, potentially hijacking my identity and causing harm.

I hope Primal can reconsider their policies to prioritize user security and identity protection.

If someone is using nostr to send you sats, then they will get the lightning address from your profile and assuming youve updated it to something else, then youll receive what was sent.

If you fail to update your address, that's on you. If the sender stored your primal address instead of using a nostr native application, then that's on them.

I'm also not happy to be losing my primal handle, but I have 6 months to decide if i want to pay to keep it 🤷‍♂️
