The real answer, it is the motor unit for an in freezer ice maker. The pin that controls the arm that checks the ice level had sheared and I need to replace the entire thing anyway.

There have been some revisions and this exact part is no longer made. I'm hopeful that they made it better but I'm assuming that the new one is even cheaper and shittier.
