Online accounts are entities.

Making everything an npub dispenses with the online illusion.

Another thing is that you can't actually know who is behind an account. There are imposters and invented persons.

Even if they "prove" themselves, they could have ghostwriters.

Did you watch them type that in and press "send"?

No, you didn't.

Perhaps it was the intern, who typed it.

All you know is that appears under npubbunchofnumbers. That is the sum total of the information you can confirm, over the Internet.
