> Whenever a woman commits adultery with a man of a caste inferior to her husband’s she shall be torn to pieces by dogs, and in some public place.

JESUS:

> “The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then he stooped down again and continued writing on the ground. When they heard this, they left one by one, starting with the older men. Only he was left, with the woman in the center. When Jesus stood up, he said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, Lord,” she answered.

“Neither do I condemn you,” said Jesus. “Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.”

–The Holy Bible, John 8:7–11

ALSO JESUS:

> Whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

–The Holy Bible, Hebrews 13:4

I don't understand the purpose of this post.

God will judge all people for all sin. This is true. Only the forgiveness available through Christ will save any of us.

If this is just stirring the pot, then you should reconsider. Is this showing love or hate. Is this building up or tearing down. You will not win anyone over with these kinds of posts...

I just wanted to contrast how ancient Indian society dealt with adultery vs. Jesus' forgiving approach, upon repentance, while still showing that He will later judge those who have not repented nor trusted in Him for salvation.
