Raspberry Pi + an attached HHD -> it took a week to download all the blocks.

Sorry, for Lightning node?
I'm not an expert... far from it. But, I believe one needs to run a BTC node to run a lightning node? Without a BTC node, I don't think channels can be closed and re-synced w/ the BTC node.
