Yes. You dont notice the perverse incentives of the man in the middle attacks, until you are free of them. I think that's why nostr is so positive. It's like having your head under water then coming up for air. No matter how well meaning the men in the middle, they will sooner or later be replaced by those that want to extract value, whether controlled by a firm, or even a foundation. It has to be a a protocol. From that seed, everything can grow.

You're absolutely right. Just look at what's happening with #Bitcoin. It's under a man in the middle #attack from so-called #ordinals etc.
#Ordinals, #nfts, #BRC20 etc are being used to artificially inflate the cost of Bitcoin #transaction fees. It's a very clear example of man in the middle fraud and larceny. As well as other computer crimes..⚖️👮♂️💀
