In the city center or Reykjavik, there is a church named Hallgrímskirkja. It is beautiful, very modern looking, very simple, lots of straight lines. We went up there in dec 2018, about 6 hours after landing, it was around noon, the sun was at the horizon, we saw some mountains at the back and it seemed like a nice place to go explore. We took our rental SUV and hit the road towards that general direction. After a few kms on mixed dirt and asphalt roads in the middle of lava fields, we saw some smoke coming out of the ground, right on the side of the road, around there: 63,89550° N, 22,05690° O
