What is dataism?

Dataism is a term used to describe a mindset or philosophy that has emerged from the increasing significance of big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

It is often associated with the idea that the universe is connected by the flow of data and that the value of everything, including humans, can be determined by its ability to process data.

This concept was first mentioned by David Brooks in 2013 and later expanded by historian Yuval Noah Harari in his book "Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow" in 2015.

Dataism has been described as a new form of religion that celebrates the growing importance of big data and information flow as the supreme value.

It has also been associated with the belief that the universe gives greater value and support to systems, individuals, and societies that contribute most heavily and efficiently to data processing.
