Corporate tech providers hijacking the branding of “freedom tech”because it’s a cute marketing strategy is at best insulting and at worst deadly for the innocent citizens globally who will be impacted by their charade.

It’s crystal clear that there is an assault on tech has been for a long time. I see it more as an assault on the free flow of information. I’d prefer in times like these if everyone worked together to push back but that would require the corporate tech providers being honest about the capabilities of their services.
I don’t expect oranges to be apples. I don’t expect that corporate tech will be freedom tech. Oranges don’t need to brand themselves as apples. They can just be oranges.
It's amazing how easy it has been the last 50 years to hijack people's brains with branding. At least in the crypto space it all fails in regards to #Bitcoin but everywhere else it just sticks.
Crazy example: Popeye eats spinach because one time spinach was mislabeled with 10x more iron than it should have been. Yet that branding of the mistake stuck and we had a cartoon hero that ate spinach to give him strength.
