It's not controversial. Many people want to view porn. If they are adults, rock on. None of that stuff is acceptable unless it's tagged appropriately so people who don't want to see it/get exposed to it can actively filter it.
I think I'd rather see porn specific relays than clients. If you don't actively add those relays to your clients, you wouldn't see the content at all. That's a better solution to the problem, IMO. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if this is the best solution, though.
It makes sense that it is through relays instead of a client... my opinion on this is that I don't support it but I don't censure it for everyone, (if they comply with the rules you say it would be ideal) I just need better moderation tools

why not both? People may want to propagate pornographic content via specific relays, but still have it NSFW tagged via the client, and toggle that when applicable to their situation.
It would be ideal to label it correctly and publish it in specific relays for that, but I cannot force other users to label their posts or restrict them from publishing this content to only these relays... I just need better tools to work with what I consume
It should be both. The pr0n relays would autotag anything with media with NSFW on case a note gets broadcast to non-pr0n-specific relays.

I think it depends more on the administrator of each relay than on the users... it is not a democracy although the users do influence in some way
I don't support it but I wouldn't like to censor it... in fact I think that censoring it's a start to something more negative that would happen later... but I would like users to have more tools for moderation
We need to take a step back and consider censorship impossible on nostr. Rather there are client filters as nothing can stop something on nostr. I say sprinkle filters all over, but let me choose. Currently I am using a client & its settings filtering reactions and and #nsfw tags.
Exactly, you have used the correct words: you can choose... I think the way forward lies more in giving more moderation tools to users than relays censoring this content... in the same way I acknowledge that relays are private property and each administrator can do with this what you want even if the rest does not agree
