In The Creature from Jekyll Island Griffin tells a story about a farmer’s duck dinner. The farmer wants to have duck for dinner, but no matter what he does he can’t get the close enough to the ducks. His blinds don’t work, his duck calls don’t work. It’s like they know that they shouldn’t get too close. Winter comes and the ducks fly off.
The next year the farmer starts putting corn all around the pond. The ducks enjoy this so much so that they stop hunting their own food and rely on the corn. The farmer can walk close to the ducks and they don’t fly away.
When winter comes the farmer builds them a little house so they can stay warm. And even if they wanted to fly south for the winter, they were too fat to do so.
The ducks are fed and happy and the farmer gets to have a duck dinner every Sunday.
The Fed is the farmer. The corn is easy money and entitlements. The ducks are corporations and individuals now captured and thus dependent on the Fed and their handouts.
Don’t be a duck.
