Yeah. Most all data, whether try, winlink, ft8, js8 call, etc... all run on USB.
With most cw down there on LSB and voice on LSB, it may help increase band space availability. Unsure.
If note, if you have 2 handhelds with data / packet access, you can test and run HAMSTR on VHF just fine on 1200 baud.
Ice used a digirig and baofengs, Bluetooth tnc on a uv pro, sound card connections, and mobilelinkd tnc v3 as different types. Mix and match works fine as long as your protocols line up, ie: 1200 Baud AFSK
