You are lying. You've never bought from a DNM in the last say 5 years. You're betraying that by claiming that most prefer Bitcoin. Even just looking at listings proves this wrong. Most markets these days are even Monero only.

Last time I bought was a couple of years ago, on the market I was using it was mostly bitcoin.

Really? Because starting with Archetyp market I'm 2020 we've seen numerous Monero only DNMs with the rest being a Bitcoin Monero hybrid. Moneros been the sole recommendation for both buyers and vendors on Dreads d/Opsec and on the Darknet Market Bible.

I understand you won't likely reveal what market you used but I'd be very curious to verify your claim of "mostly Bitcoin".

what does "mostly Bitcoin" mean?

"the market accepted both bitcoin and monero, but in my assessment most of the vendors were doing business is Bitcoin?"

it's true there aren't any hard numbers on TX volumes, but even a cursory glace at DNMs over the last 5 years shows the preference for Monero.

I'd say that White House Market beginning as a Monero-only market and rapidly becoming the dominant DNM (after Empire exitscammed) was a watershed moment.

what was that? ‘21?

since then, except for hydra there haven't been any large Bitcoin markets.

its still used, but less and less because the friction of unloading monero is often LESS than the friction of coinjoins or swapping UTXOs and worrying about the exchange flagging you.

but it depends on the person's situation and threat model of course.

I didn't know that about White House Market, you know your DNMs way more than me. Thanks for the expansion.

iirc they were the 1st Monero-only market. they also enforced PGP messaging.

the fact they became the largest DNM was a big deal and a very interesting data point.
