I have come to find that the bitcoin content that hits the hardest for bitcoiners DO NOT have the same effect for precoiners

They tend to just reinforce the “it’s a cult” perspective, or create it if they didn’t already think that

I will never see the imaginary “Bitcoin community” as a cult, but if you are able to take a step back, you too might see it’s not surprising people think this

You can’t really just broadcast something that came from deep in the rabbithole and expect normal people to be on the same page, generally speaking

Completely agree, I can’t listen to 99%of podcasts in public without feeling judged. Shit gets deep quick but there has to be a middle ground

I think it just boils down to “proof of work”. There are no shortcuts to some arbitrary point down along the neverending rabbithole

True, but if you hand a textbook on string theory to a novice then they probably would give up on physics before they even begin

I don't even consider it content. It's mostly Tourettes. Most people don't see it as content either.

I sometimes think on nostr it actually functions as a selfsabotaging mechanism to make sure nostr doesn't grow lol

*this is not to say bitcoin content can't be interesting, but that sorta thing is a very small percentage of what gets posted on here. :)

I was thinkjng as i wrote this specifically about jack mallers’ “intro to bitcoin” at bitcoin atlantis. I sent it to my brother thinking “THIS is gonna be the thing to make him ‘get it’” and he was live texting me the whole time being like “what the fuck is this, who is this guy, what a terrible spokesperson, this makes no sense, is this a cult”

So awkward 😂

I've swung back to "If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry."

Fuck em.

Happens 🙃

I know what you mean. It’s funny how something like AI and ChatGPT feels like it’s caught the masses’ attention because it might affect their fiat jobs. But Bitcoin doesn’t seem to be capturing the masses’ attention in quite the same way…even though it might affect the very definition of money and their jobs (for the better)... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Haha. The other day watching a Bitcoin podcast it hit me that some of this probably sounds like cult militia in the woods shit to the average person.

I agree and before you can get to the “fuck the state” stage you have to ease into it.

Politics is precoiner content. The world and banking system they live in is all the content they need. Up to them to ask the right questions.

I think NGU is how you pull them in then explain freedom tech
