"Bad money drives out good."

Meaning that when two forms of currency with the same nominal value exist, people will tend to hoard the more valuable currency (good money) and spend the less valuable currency (bad money), ultimately leading to the devaluation of the monetary system.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
