I would never hate on non-profit organizations. I worked with many helping them with Operating Models, process re-engineering, human capital, strategy…etc

First hand experience, they mostly do good things. And when you are inside the organization, you actually see the passion everyone has towards their mission. It’s almost toxic.

Typically, non-profit offer expertise beyond funding. They have experience in litigation, they know people in difficult places that allow them to connect the dots to help or simply be a strong voice against the man, as a united front for the people who support the cause.

Managing funding was essential in the past. Since we didn’t really have way to directly send money to a poor family in an isolated location. Also, non-profits help keep donations clean, no money laundering, all reported with a tax break incentive…etc etc.

But it’s worth considering, if it’s only fund management that’s being offered, is the role really needed with the beauty of #bitcoin and #lightning bridging the gap and taking out the middle man? Maybe not.

Something to think about.

I hear Non Profit and I think fat salaries, company cars and free lunches.
