“Meet Me On Nostr” looks like a fantastic addition to the platform! Harnessing the power of social connections for integration not only improves user experience but also strengthens the community aspect of #Nostr.

The QR code feature makes it incredibly convenient for users to invite their friends and facilitates instant connection and interaction on the platform. Additionally, incentivizing users with rewards for inviting new accounts is a great way to encourage engagement and growth, I just worry that this particular feature wouldn't encourage fake accounts to join.

I'm excited to see how this new feature unfolds!

Thanks for the enthusiasm. How wd you suggest “fake accounts” are avoided?

As we are talking about a decentralized environment with a focus on privacy, freedom of expression and collaboration, it would not be appropriate to carry out identity checks, as in this case we would become the “new” Twitter/Facebook/TikTok/Instagram.

With this in mind, in my humble opinion, some possible solutions to mitigate the creation of fake profiles would be:

✅ Behavior Analysis:

- Implement behavior analysis algorithms that examine user activity patterns such as posting frequency, interactions, and networking behavior.

- These algorithms can identify suspicious patterns such as unusual activity, automated behavior, or attempts to manipulate the network.

✅ Community Feedback:

- Empower users to report suspicious accounts or fraudulent behavior through a simple and effective reporting system.

- Establish a transparent process to review and respond to these reports, ensuring the community has a voice in identifying and mitigating fake accounts.

➡️ In summary:

- Integration of an AI-based behavior analysis system, which continuously and automatically monitors user activity, identifying suspicious patterns that could indicate fake accounts.

- Additionally, establish a reporting function on the platform, allowing users to report suspicious activity, including the creation of fake accounts.

- Reports would be reviewed by a decentralized moderation team made up of trusted community members who would review the evidence and take appropriate action, such as deleting fake accounts or taking corrective action.

I believe that with these combined approaches of behavior analysis and community feedback, it could allow us to effectively identify and mitigate the creation of fake accounts while maintaining the privacy and freedom of expression of users on #Nostr.

I hope I helped at least with these ideas. 😉
