As a normie, how do I know if my nsec is encrypted when adding it to a nostr based client? Is it even? Is there already a way to protect your nsec on the phone? Waiting if the client is trustworthy? Or are you like - yolo?

Should we protect our nsec/privatekey for nostr more?

I feel like, yes. 💜🔐 nostr:note14aglcmcseqd5x33tskw2ysv7ykajf79hwhkxm39zkfwtr2qgxz7qfut5h8

You would have to look at the code, to find out.

Did none of you ever use a #nostr browser extension (nos2x, Alby) to log into web clients?

Genuinely curious.

Yes. Use it all the time.

I haven't looked at the code and I feel a bit uncomfortable sharing my nsec with anyone, even an extension.

I would rather do the DM-confirmation, like with nostr.build .

And the browser extensions are reading along on my web page journey. Sorta creepy.

I also log in with lightning, sometimes.

No. But will soon, I'm doing a signer, but the signer part will be just an nice to have.

Of course and it’s nice, but is it already available for the phone?

Will check

Depends on your phone. Kiwi browser on Android can do extensions, for example.

I don’t really expect that there is already a a good solution for iOS

Android is so much cooler…. 😂 thanks for your time!

Fair enough 👀

A tool for normies to check would be cool. Or it could njust not matter anymore in the future. When nostr dm is encrypted I also want to make sure nobody can access my account

Everything is fine…
